In 1989, I was commissioned to edit an engaging tale of a grand estate and a magnificent collection of art. It was also the story of a centenarian, the heiress and artist who lived on the property until her death at 109. While editing that book, my greatest fascination was not with the estate or the art, but, with the “lady of the house” and the stories of her life. Inspired by that project, I shifted the focus of my profession exclusively to ghostwriting memoirs. That was the start of an ever-evolving career.

Engaging the services of a ghostwriter is at times misunderstood. When an individual who is not a writer has a story to tell, it is logical to seek the help of a professional writer. Writing well is an expertise. As a ghostwriter, I use my proficiency in interviewing, researching, organizing, and putting my client’s words together for maximum effect.

Among the more than 100 memoirs I have ghostwritten to date are two cabinet members in the Reagan administration, numerous Fortune 500 CEOs, an Emmy Award-winning actor, a former member of the Gambino crime family, one of Oprah’s heroes, the family behind one of the top-ten grant-making foundations in the United States, two NASCAR team owners, and several founders and founding families of both public and privately-held prominent U.S. corporations.
