Because I write in first person, it is of utmost importance in my writing to retain the voice and integrity of the individual telling the story. Ghostwriting well is all about voice, and it cannot be mine. When I am conducting interviews, beyond listening closely to what is being said, my ears are always alert to the individual’s intonation, form of expression, humor, and heart. There should be no evidence in the final product that I was involved in the process.

In addition to the information gleaned from the interviews, I conduct a copious amount of independent research related to the terms, people, and places mentioned throughout the interviews. For the benefit of the reader and the enrichment of the text, I expand upon those topics using the narrator’s voice. In essence, my research provides the “back story” for every memoir project I undertake.

When I have completed the writing portion of the project, the client receives a first draft to make additions, deletions, and corrections to the manuscript. This stage of the project provides the opportunity for my clients to embrace the manuscript as their own. It also gives them complete editorial control. Back:Read More:1, 2, 3
